Being replaced by 3rd party.

Cape girardeau Missouri. 10 delivery positions being dissolved and replaced by a cheaper 3rd party. Corporate greed!!!

How many more who's next before the employees stand together against these greedy bullies? The company you work for prefers rollover to tenure.

This just happened at our store and had to take a paycut of like $3/hr. Management stated that it was policy and there was nothing they could do. How is it that everyone else who lost their positions got to keep their pay but delivery drivers don't? How is this even legal when it's not any fault of the delivery driver who lost his position? This is just wrong on every level.

Flatbed deliveries will eventually be outsourced as well—it is coming. Store mgr here is already making that known to our drivers.

Our box trucks went to 3rd party a year and a half ago, was told last week my job as a flat bed driver will be gone this summer by a 3rd party supervisor when they offered me a job driving the flat for them. I told them no I'll retire first or find a part time job.

Can't speak to specifics of the store in question but when the box truck crews in my area (approximately 16 stores) were told they were being replaced they were not in any way assured another position at the store. They were all required to apply for other openings (of which there were hardly any full time positions) and so the vast majority were essentially terminated. Many of the ones at my store had more than 10 years of service with the company. This happened within weeks of both the assembly and facilities crews at the store being terminated as well. Out of approximately 14 individuals that had their positions eliminated only 2 found other positions prior to their termination dates. Think they were each provided 2 weeks severance pay.

Only way they're keeping their pay is if they started at $13 or less lol.

For the last responders, they do not get to keep their delivery pay! They are offered a lower grade pay job in the store. They can apply for any opening and maybe get similar pay if they become a specialist, dept. Manager, etc.

The company has obviously decided that a huge increase in complaints is worth the amount of money they will save on payroll and benefits for drivers.

It does not eliminate flatbed CDL drivers. Mustn’t make the demanding Pro customers angry. Screw the retail customers, they aren’t high and mighty like every arrogant house flipper or low level “builder” that nickels and dimes us to death.

I’ll just forward all complaints to management. They are experts at handling customer complaints. The “World Class Customer Service” mantra is a joke. No matter how great the customer service is in the store, the third party will leave a steaming pile in the kitchen. All to save a buck on benefits. This is just the beginning.

Does this include flatbed CDL drivers?

Yep. Happened in our market over a year ago. Hopefully your 3rd party crews are better trained then what we got. If not get ready for an exponential increase in customer care complaints and AR263 accounts.
