I’m hearing rumblings off another round of layoffs this week...

We continue to hear “get rid of the fat.” Are you serious? There is no rhyme or reason for people they’ve laid off. Sure, some are worthless, but I’ve known some who got let go who consistently got rated 1s. As a manager I can tell you I have little say so in who stays or go. This all comes from the VPs.
They will not ask for volunteers to be laid off because this is how they “get rid of the fat“. They don’t wanna take the chance that the wrong people who end up quitting are retiring
It always happens around the pay cycle, not Friday. Also, they don’t care if you are off work. That is id–tic to say.
Likely next Thursday, the pay period closes the next day. Rumbling as of the last few years seem to come to pass. Some people know things.
MRO should ask if anyone volunteers to be laid off. I know several who will jump on that train.
The past few years I’ve been here they’ve never happened on a Friday.
It's 9am on Thursday. Can we all agree that OP is full of it?
It won't be on Friday because half of the people are off. You don't call people and let them go during off days.
That's not true. The last one was on Thursday.
Every cycle of layoffs have happened on Fridays. Be scared Friday.
How else are we going to meet our quarterly financials if we don't slash headcount!?
Rumblings? From where? Pics or it didn't happen, as they say. It wouldn't surprise me, but, please just stop, with all these vague predictions.
If it’s going to happen this week it’ll be today or tomorrow but they haven’t started today so that’s out of the question as they usually start right at 8am. Would make sense since all of upper management is mysteriously “quitting”.
