Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

NS FRA Hours of Service Violations

They are making crews drive themselves now to hotels and terminals having fired PTI many places. A FRA inspector as asked about outlawed crews driving themselves to hotels after working more than 12 before marking off- he stated it IS an hours of service violation.....

Report it in your HOS screen in crewcall

Report it to the FRA directly

It is a fine to NS, but apparently it isn’t a huge amount each time so the company is hedging its bets people won’t report them and just pay the few fines that do get reported. Document everything and turn it in to Union and FRA, don’t just trust the crewcall reporting the company will cover as much of that up as they can

Here's an FYI for the people that want to believe that the railroads can do whatever they want. Get on YouTube or whatever site has it and look up congressional subcommittee hearings regarding PSR. The railroads are in fact being watched regarding PSR tactics. Not one member on that committee applauded PSR. There was also a hearing in response to shipper complaints due to PSR. The railroads are not in any way untouchable!! The videos are lengthy, but good to watch if you're interested.

If the public knew how unsafe these trains were you think they would be ok. Ill put it out there. He had a derailment locally. That village is now working on stopping trains from passing through. Once one does it they all will. So keep drinking the kool aid "yes man"

Ok genious, please tell us what changes have been made as well as how long public outrage lasts every time a train derails or blocks crossings for lengthy periods of time? My guess is about 60 seconds.

Hahahaha yea right. The RR is pretty much invisible to the public, unless one of their new PSR 15 mile long trains block crossings for 10 hours preventing grandma from getting to church on Sunday. Good luck with your public information campaign.

What we really need to do it get this stuff out to the American public. It's the tax payers money who funds the fra and others. If towns knew trains were unsafe and not being inspected right or crew were over used and tired. Do you think they would let they pass through? It's time we stand up and fight these useless greedy people. Railroaders unite!!!!!!!
