These jobs are reserved for fancy talking, high school dropouts. Especially if you have a lifted truck and great hunting skills along with the IQ of a gate security guard.

Those jobs are reserved to build the minority and diversity quotas. Remember, the Dems just pulled a trifecta in November. Now Chevron must start filling slots to up their numbers. Unfortunately, those jobs will be filled with mostly useless id–ts, not the best of the best.

This is normal SOP - headcount decisions made on a fiscal year basis to satisfy top- down directives.

It often does not matter what those in the trenches foresee as future personnel needs.

Life in the big company...

Many are in South America - why? Because a few years back to save a few bucks, they decided that Finance jobs, that for years and years were entry in from colleges in US, could be outsourced for cheaper wages. Most of these jobs were in Houston, some San Ramon. Savings? yes, but drop in bucket for big picture budget and lame message on US Jobs...

You got it all wrong monkeys. They let go age group 50 + at and PSG 24+ and 200K/Year. Now they're hiring younger, r—ded, less paid monkeys to their jobs. Oldest trick in the books. Can you prove it? NO. But is so eFFING obvious

Yes and 90% of the jobs Posted on Chevrons External Web Page are located in Makati City, Singapore or Buenos Aires. A few choice assignments in London, Belgium and France. But forget about any chance at those.

My guess on getting back into Chevron based on function if you are a wmale is as follows:

  1. HSE - 0% – Just look at who they promoted and cut
  2. Midland Operations – 70% –These are dirty jobs and they are not in Houston
  3. FE Midland – 80% – Same as above, dirty jobs and not in Houston
  4. HR All Locations - 0% - Needs no explanation

Chevron did not fill all of the jobs during R4. So expect to see many more jobs becoming available in the next few months.

I just spoke to my friends in HR. Apparently, HSE will be posting several jobs around the world in the nest quarter. They took over a 30% cut after they had already reorganized. That group is beyond bare bones right now which could be a reason for some of the complaints on here.

Even more shocking are the job postings by Chevron vendors who are scrambling to fill jobs because they oversold their capabilities. And employees were not allowed to turn their blue badge in for green this time without also returning their severance package (in some BUs). All the experience and expertise just thrown out the window

I like how Chevrons website showcases all of the minorities they hire. What a joke

Obviously not because all the id–ts that remain are here moaning and complaining about having a job.

Plenty of good people took the most recent layoffs as an opportunity to leave.

"The Churn"..... hate to say it but some decision maker(s) in your management thought it was better to let you go and chance that they could replace you with a new hire.

The Company used to reward loyalty and commitment.... now managers are prone to fall into "there are excellent candidates available outside Chevron that we should consider". Long term we'll see who is right :)

Yes they do. It's called empire building. First, fire people and then hire new ones, till too many people again. Then repeat. They have done that many many many times.
