Does Chevron do preemployment screening for corporate positions (non field)? If so, what type of screening? I’ve spent some time in Colorado through the pandemic. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

It's been a looong time since I went through my pre-employment screening...but if you're specifically asking about the d–g screen part of that (given your mention of Colorado), it only included a urine test (for Chevron employment).
My understanding is that Chevron contractors have to go through hair testing, which would require a significantly longer time of abstinence than a standard urine analysis.
@3clx: Any idea how to stop mo–ns from posting useless comments on every thread ... i.e., like yours?
Does anyone know which part of this site is for posting layoff related concerns? Asking for a friend.
I wouldn’t worry about it. Everyone at Chevron smokes pole....
I actually think the poster is a woman. Just saying mate.
“I heard that there is a layoff topics site around here. Anyone know where that is?”... I heard there was one jackass who posts the same comment on every thread, like he thinks he as control of anonymous posters. Rather strange behavior.
As to the post at hand. Chevron sent an email out a few years back saying maryJane is not considered legal because the feds still consider it schedule one (They did not address those that travel to the Netherlands). My suspicion is they don’t really test for it, but I could be wrong. They do require an inch of hair from all the interns.
If Chevron did any pre-screening, we would not have all of these east coast losers in HSE. Lets don't forget about the completely jacked HSE org in MCBU. We got 3 old ladies running the show. I think the blond is my grandmother's age. They are both really gray but are to vain to show their true colors. And yes, that is a pun.
Hair and urine d–g screening. Must be done within a few days of offer acceptance and offer is contingent on passing the d–g test. Once hired there is no continuing d–g screening for office jobs unless they have reason to suspect d–g abuse.
I agree, it may be counterintuitive, but companies do hire, even in the middle of massive layoffs. Definitely not a great optic, but it happens. The careers job listings illustrate that.

Completely baffled by this thread. Chevron is in the middle of a massive lay-off. So there is absolutely no reason that they are hiring much less doing any background checks. And no testing for hiring. Seriously!! 🤪🤪
So wondering whether it is hair, urine, etc.? Sorry for the vague ask, strange what’s its choosing to censor.
Hair and urine screening along with routine background checks
For some reason the post was censoring the word d–g so I had to write it this way. Colorado - re: legalized m-r-j-a-a.
Full medical, criminal, educational, credit, employment and d–g screening. However, spending time in Colorado per se is not a problem, unless you were in a correctional facility.
Won't they tell you what they are collecting the information for? It's not like you will provide your ssn and birth date before getting hired.
If they want to do a background check they can I think.
What's your concern?
