Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

Dismissive management

Handed a manager an armful of new releases with signage for the front list and was looked at like i was stupid and was told to dump them on a larger back table with older titles. These people don’t care anymore.

I just talked to a manager on the phone at a location somewhere in Arizona. I asked when the liquidation sales would start. She was adamant they were never going out of business. She did get super defensive and nervous that I asked about the liquidation sale. She then hung up on me after I told her there is a growing group that wants to see BN shut down. Down with BN, Daunt, Riggio.

It’s hard to care about what you’re doing when the fool in charge doesn’t.
Reminds me of a few stores.

This reminds me of a manager who would treat his employees and lighten their workload before slaughtering them.

It’s still unprofessional. Some of us are trying to do our job to the fullest and we have management like this. Let it be known it was not the booksellers who k–led this place.

They probably have a reason not to care. They've got a job lined up, they know the store is closing, or they feel that it doesn't matter one way or another.
