Team schedules

Does anyone have info on how team schedules are going to work? It sounds a lot like core schedules. Working same hours everyday and having set days off. What if one already has days that they are not available? I read on wire that it will be for full time employees only.

I worked for almost 10years at Walmart in Anchorage Alaska my rate is 14.27.The newly hired employees are getting $14.00 an hour which is a little bit difference of my rate. Its not fair though🤣I’m a cashier at Walmart and I’ve been working long time.

I’ve been working for almost 10 years at Walmart and I am a fultime.I was wondering just recently they cut my hours. They gave me 31hrs which is not consider as fultime. When I asked the Teamleads they said I am not included in theTeam Schedule.I talked to them to work at 10am to 7pm because I need to catch the bus but they said I’m not gonna get the fultime hours.I was so sad they didn’t give me consideration.

It is just another way to force long term associates, like me (33) years out. I have built my life around the current schedule and they told me I meant no more to the company than a new hire. No wonder they are pushing the active shooter video. Everything that was beneficial fo employees has been taken away so that upper management can line their pockets. I hope the entire management team gets cancer of the eyes and dies.

Should the preferred hours be chosen by senority, job performance, or b*t kissing ability?

All of this is bu-----t!!!!!!!!! As the days and years go along Walmart finds another way to sc--w people over. Not every area follows the Saturday and Sunday format. Odp has “different” options then again certain options only apply to the favorites. Remember people there is supposed to be no seniority at Walmart (cbl on ethics).

I’m going to be working 2-11 in my store and it sucks. You can’t do anything before work and nothing after your off. I would like to know is the way they decides who gets first choice decided by hire date and it doesn’t matter if a lot of the years you were part time?

My store has 2 shifts only. 4-1 and 1-10. Cake decorators are the same. For cake decorators? That b.s. also, that schedule isn't a little out of our availability. It's way off.
This new schedule isn't conducive or helpful to employees in any way. The store doesn't even open until 7am. As cake decorators, we help in deli, help with donuts, bag bread and put out freight and still have to fulfill customer orders and do production for holidays etc and there's only 2 of us. Both of us declined the new team schedule. We efficiently complete our work doing our current schedules. Everyone has "stuff" my availability is my availability for a reason (so is the second cake decorators). Shame on walmart for pigeonholing employees.

I was described this bs as “Fulltime employees get to choose between set times in their areas while part time people pretty much get what’s left” yet here I am as a father of a disabled child that needs to be home in the evenings to help take care of said child, I made it very clear to my team leads and management that I needed the 4-1 shift to do so. I am then brought into the office a week later and told that I was being put on the 1-10 shift instead. So right off the bat management lied about having a choice. Part timers only have the options of picking up what is left (which is only 20 hours if your are lucky) or you can quit. Walmart went from bragging about flexibility in scheduling to trying to turn its schedule layout to that of a factory. I informed them if I do not get a day shift by august I will be quitting the company.

It obviously won’t be ever! They will rotate teams every day it will be one of the 3 shifts on different days. Ask your store! No set schedules!

If your availability is closed to days and shifts you loose out! I guess people will find out all in good time! Some stores are slower than others. Believe whatever you want!

It’s obviously going to be a set schedule because you will be working the same days and have the same days off each week. So yes it is a set schedule. You will be working the same days and same times and the same days off. Also there is a thing called availability, you can’t just scheduled whenever they would like. People are not robots we are not available 24/7.

There will be no set schedules anymore; they will be rotated days and weekends. Every time the store manager modifies scheduling the score card goes down. The days of having a set schedule are over! For any area!

The plethora of new responsibilities these associates will be getting isn't gonna work out in a store like mine. Since the new Team Lead structure, Team Leads are still running around doing just as much work as they used to as Dept Mgrs. Claims from the salesfloor is supposed to be done by CAP associates and team associates and the same associates keep bringing Claims to our Claims dept. In our store, we have a ton of associates on the salesfloor that barely know English and are technology illiterate. There's gonna be a ton of associates that will leave based on all the new responsibilities they will have for piss poor hourly wages.

They will have the same set days off every week. It will not rotate. But FT has to work either a Saturday or Sunday. So there days off will be spilt every week unless they choose to have two days off together during the week

Your missing the point. These full time 40 hour week associates are gonna be doing all of the old department manager jobs such a section work and price changes yet will only be making the base pay such as $11 an hour.

Yes, I agree. I feel as it is a way to hinder the full timers. They wouldn’t do anything good for their employees just because. Walmart has an agenda and it’s probably to push full timers out the door.

In a way that seems unfair..cause pt associates can be flexible and might work more days..than the long term ft associate. I think they want ft to go to pt..imo

This is what is on the wire

The time of day most associates work won’t look significantly different than it does today.
For example, the Deli/Bakery has set times today for production and when the counter is open. That won’t change. Store managers will formalize this by selecting the shift start times for each of their teams. For some teams, this could mean schedules change slightly. For example, a store manager could decide to change a 7 a.m.-4 p.m. shift to be 6-3 or 5-2.

You will work alongside your leaders and fellow team members on each shift.
The way team scheduling is set up, individual teams will work together on the same shifts and be more connected to their team lead. You’ll develop chemistry from working together each day and will have streamlined communication with more direction from a clear leader – not only on the work that needs to get done, but on skills training and career options, too.

You will have consistent days on and off each week.
Once your area goes to team schedules, full-time associates will work on set days, and have set days off each week. We know you’ve got a lot going on, and this consistency will help you better plan for your life outside of work.

The goal is to have more full-time associates in team schedules built around a 40-hour work week.
Hours are not being cut. Just the opposite, in fact. With consistent schedules each week, you’ll know what to expect in your paycheck. Being full-time also means you have access to benefits like medical and dental coverage, life insurance, the company 401k plan and numerous wellness benefits.

Your store manager will choose the shift start times for teams.
Store managers know their business, customers and associates better than anyone, so they get to choose what makes the most sense for their store and each of their teams. This process will take place over the next few months. They’ll share more details with you as the process unfolds.

Part-time associates will still be scheduled the same way they always have.
While team scheduling only applies to full-time associates, part-time associates will continue to work flexible shifts and play an important role serving customers. That could mean they work on a single team across varying days, or even on multiple teams in the store that allow them to serve customers when they truly need them.
