Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Living in fantasy land

Several of my coworkers are not worried over losing their jobs because a) they've been here forever and b) BBB is too big to fail so we'll be around for a long time to come. I'm honestly not sure how people can lul themselves into a false sense of security that'll probably leave them completely unprepared when the cuts come. I even mentioned Sears as an example but they just refuse to even consider it. I honestly feel sorry for them.

Sears laid off 30 and 40 year employees. They were also full time employees.

Wow your company sent you half of an employee and a portable charger. BBB needs to step their game up for real.

They sent you a half employee? Which half of an employee? For those who are so happy in their jobs..where is this wonderful place? I would love to get a half employee in the mail.

Naa I’m kidding don’t f— this place. Love this place. It’s not their fault they make bad decisions. Hell we all do. We just don’t cost hundreds of people jobs. Glad I left and working at a place that makes everyone feel at home. I went to get the mail the other day and there was a package from my new company. I open it and to my surprise the company sent me a half employee a portable phone charger. It maybe something small but it showed they cared about their employees. What a better world outside that hell hole. I mean outside bed bath.

I think the same person (or couple of people) post the "I'm being picked on" " My Asm/ops/co-workers/part timers) do nothing, I do it all" " It's all for the shareholders". etc etc. I agree with the poster below..it is about their day and dies not add any information. It's all about them complaining. They tend to use multiple !!!!..maybe same person? I think they are just trying to get validation for their miserable feelings..if you notice along with the multiple !!!! they sometimes use the expressions..don't feed the trolls

Nobody is "too big to fail"

Bloodbath is not GM or the banks, either. The only big rescue would be for someone to buy them out.

If your coworkers decide to stay then why is that any of your business?? Or are you an ex employee that got the axe and is disgruntled because they still a job and you don’t ?!?!

This board used to be useful on updates regarding the company. Now all we get is everyone’s blog posts on their day where it’s completely irrelevant information.

Poor 20 year old? If they were 35 would you have said poor 35 year old? LOL. If the 20 year old can't handle the job..they shouldn't be in that job

Why is someone posting about their co-workers? And how do they know what they may/may not be doing to prepare for their next step in life? People..worry about yourself..it's kinda creepy to post about your coworkers

Already have had 2 customers in the store giving management grief over the My Pillow situation and last night a customer called on the phone and immediately started yelling and cursing at the poor 20 year old associate who was at customer service! She passed the call to the lod who then had to endure the customers wrath! If they were smart they would have waited a few weeks before pulling this product!!!! Associates and managers shouldn’t have to be subjected to this!!!

My opinion:

Attacking the person who made a post that you don’t agree with is just an example of the cancel culture that’s out there. Saying I disagree and giving rationale why is a more logical response

In-store sales are down double digits. The company deciding to get rid one of the top selling lines (my pillow) to appease a portion of the customers is risky. There’s improbable they recoup sales and profitability from increased “Omni” business or a private label item. So yes everybody may be on the chopping block

I feel sorry for YOU being so concerned with what you think your co-workers think that you have to make a post. Why are YOU still there?

Store must feel so secure they can cut loose the "My Pillow" guys line of products and take the backlash from all the people that will not shop there now because of that decision.
