By summertime they’ll surely see the mistakes they’re making . Auto claims is just awful In terms of the work environment . Getting up to 8 inspections From all over the country every day and working 60 hours a week including weekends to keep
Up is insane . Shops charging to write an estimate and demanding an adjuster go in person because they’re tired of doing our jobs is the norm now. Cars are sitting weeks at towyards incurring massive storage charges , insureds using up
Their 30 days rental while they wait for an estimate to be written and shops waiting weeks for approval and payment is proof this isn’t working . Less adjusters coupled with more pending inspections is bad business.

You really don’t get it. They want all inspect to be QFC or VA. Why have adjusters in the field when shops and customers do our job for us and we just write it up. Once we are done paying the leases on company cars they will take those and 90% of us will be full time virtual, until they can get people in India write estimates where possible (non license states). Why should they pay me and for a company car to do 4-5 assignment when if all inspect are virtual I do 7 or 8. They don’t care about quality or customer service issues, they just want inspect done as fast and cheaply as possible
As a field Appraiser I cannot understand why I can't be allowed to go out and see cars in my own state. 90% of them are at tow yards, copart or a shop. We get it we'll wear a mask. There is no exposure to the customer except in a very rare situation then you can tell them to stay away and you won't go in the car. There are desk appraisers now working at home where there is no field staff. Let them stay home till they can go into the office but let us go out enough is enough. They say its about safety. Dont believe that. Think it will be easier to lay more off. They have us listed as work at home employees. An inside adjuster can do basically the same job from home but we cannot. Not to mention many other companies going out. They are grossly overpaying on claims and I don't blame shops for getting fed up of doing our job.
“By summertime they’ll surely see the mistakes they’re making“. Lol, just lol, everyone said that when they rolled out VA 3 years ago, when are you old timers going to get it? They WANT this, pandemic just sped it up, they want us to sit at home being VA, you aren’t going back to the field except maybe once a month for some disaster claim
The powers that be do not care about the employees, the agents, or the customers. This is just a big fat piggy bank to them and they will point their filthy fingers at all of us peons when the customers are gone and their cash flow eventually stops.
It’s a nightmare begging customers to drive to towyards and shops to take photos of their wrecked cars for me so I can write an estimate because shops and tow companies tell me that’s my job and I can go out to them . In the beginning they were willing to take the photos abd do the virtual assist inspections but now they’re saying it’s taking time out of their day . There’s so many inspections coming in that dispatch is just piling them on us faster than we can work them . It’s quantity over quality just trying to keep up. So many p-ss-d off customers and agents wondering why it’s been weeks and no estimates written . The Total loss department processors were layed off so we keep total losses we can’t settle , adding to the work .
TW and GS need new yachts guys. Come on.
The beginning of the end. Clients are fleeing out the door while TW fiddles. Recent US Post Office issues with mail delayed over 30 days is causing insureds to terminate and RMBC is not allowing reinstatement without a lapse - causes the insured to lose hundreds of dollars in discounts. If we did not have 'dysfunction' we wouldn't function at all. Terrible customer service that they are loath to fix.
it’s beyond repair
In the beginning work from home was ok, was only getting local claims. Soon was expanded to statewide then regional and finally nationwide. It is very inefficient and time consuming trying to learn state regulations and compliance when handling and settling damages and t/loss. It is now overwhelming to the point of insanity the backup of claims is out of control. Mentally and physically draining working so many hours to keep up. Does Allstate think since we are at home it's like a vacation? Does management think we goof off all day and they have permission to force us to work 60 hours a week? Voluntary weekends to keep up? Customers are so upset we will never win back trust. The people running this ship need to pull their heads out and do something fast we are slowly sinking into an abyss if no return.
