401k - automatically?

I work part time, but my sister is a full time employee in another store and I wonder if full timers automatically get a 401k? I saw that the question was asked by someone on another social network, but the answers were divided, some say that it goes automatically, and some that they still have to open it. Can I get more precise answers here?

Anyone that does not participate in a 401(k) with a company match is foolish. You are literally turning down free money and the benefit of compounding interest. I was in Lowe’s 401(k) for over 24 years before leaving the company and like the previous commenter have a balance close to $500k. My retirement is taken care of if I just leave it alone now and do nothing.

Yes - You are automatically enrolled as stated before - max out your contribution as much as you can - I’ve been 25 years + and have contributed 10% since - account is $570,000 - take advantage of this benefit

I think they are automatically enrolled unless they opt out during new hire orientation.
