Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

Baker Hughes' problem is they lack leadership

True leadership at the Sugar Land level and all the way up to Maria. All they are is yes men to her and heaven forbid, actually go and see a employee out in the field past driving distance from their homes in Texas and customer for once and listen to their needs.

You never hear any clear goals at the leadership level that can be applied to employee X's current situation. They are brilliant and making fancy power points but can't speak to the low level employees on what his/her goals are or even that specific leaders goals are. Forever in Zoom meetings is how they justify their time not in front of the employee or thanking any client for their business.

The Legacy GE folks always pushed Integrity to the masses like a d–g, but that's because they have none and they're all trying to play Clue now that all of the knowers and doers are gone.
I'm now calling this company shorty!

Leaders in Sugar Land are a thing of the past. There are directors and managers (plenty of them) but no leaders.

If one of them reads this, they will Google differences of a leader and manager and director. Then, they will look up the definition of Leader.

Remember Dr. Downs? Leader.

It’s been said multiple times on this board that the leadership basically has no backbone. The tried and true talent was shuffled around so much, that valuable folks were caught in BS roles that weren’t needed. Leaders that were valuable in one area were shoved in positions they were not comfortable with but knew there was no other choice. Stay until told to leave. The payoff is young talent that can make something of themselves and lead the company. Maybe it pays off well in the long run, but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything favorable for them now.

How many experts in Sugar Land will dial in on a conference call just to spew things to operations without ever stepping into the field, much less having a clue what the heck is going on with the application? I believe everyone needs to be great in their roles in order for the organization to succeed. Putting a person that was a high performer in one role into a completely new one is a recipe for disaster. Especially with the c-appy training and employee development that Baker provides.
