Empty Shelves

Our store has very little stock. Lots of empty shelves and tables. How about your stores?

No guarantee last act will revert back to merchandise having a quicker turn. First, customers must want to purchase chase appealing merchandise. Second and most importantly, customers must have the desire to buy if they have funds.

We cancelled orders during lockdown since we were unsure of the future and when we would open stores again, and who would be shopping again. It was a strategic move. Now however, we will be very light in merchandise as retailers buy product up to a year in advance. So we wont see many goods until next fall, but even then, we will never be back to where we used to be. The company wants a faster turn. This means selling off product at regular price , and first markdowns. So Last Act, which was always too big, will never be as big again, which will eventually result in bigger profit.

BTW, many divisions beat LY this past week! That is quite an achievement considering the adjusted hours, depleted stock levels, less people shopping, etc.

Ok... now let the bashing begin... cuz thats what you do on here

My store has been empty since the day after Black Friday. Our trucks have been less than a third full, we're throwing out fixtures left and right. It's hard not to think we've been arranging chairs on the Titanic. Whatever recipe is being cooked up for post inventory is likely to taste awful. Store closure, massive cuts, somehow more work than we are already doing to be done in even less time? The employees are all way overstressed, all while dodging a plague.

We're going to be crawling into inventory with nothing in the tank. The only question I ask myself every day is how much should I care?

We will be bare bones in January. Reciepts will mot pick up again until Feb/March. Even then, and after covid, we will never have stock like we used to. We are looking for a faster turn. So less last act, bigger profit.

My store has a lot less merchandise and past several trucks are close to empty. Our home store has no electrics or pots and pans. The minute it come in it goes out for fulfillment. I guess that makes upcoming inventory easier. It’s anybody’s guess what happens after that.

We have some employ spaces too. My coworker thinks they are not stocking up in case we go on lockdown again. I don’t know what to think.
