Thread regarding Pembina Pipeline Corp layoffs

Pembina is a broken company behind the scenes

Pembina from the outside appears to be a well run company. Stock price (was) excelling, ambitious projects and vision, well-spoken CEO. Internally, it is a very different story. An alcohol fueled culture, employees rarely given the tools and resources to properly do our jobs. Even in good times, leadership was more concerned with spending the least amount of money to protect themselves and their bonuses. Middle management coasting along and nodding their heads and licking boots of Vice Presidents. It was insulting how management would not invest in their people, systems, processes, and procedures. We were left to fend for ourselves. Additionally, the company is ripe with cronyism, favoritism, and nepotism. HR plays along and supports it all.

Most of the projects are on hold and management is asking all the time for cost savings to pay dividends to the shareholders. It's a broken company behind the scenes and the ship will eventually sink.

Here is something to make you happy. I heard from someone who works within a corporate group that there a bunch of furious people at Pembina over posts on this site... and they know there is nothing they can do about it. For a company that still thinks it can pull the wool over peoples' eyes, and fly under the radar, the chickens have finally come home roost. I have certainly shared some of these posts with fellow industry colleagues. I urge everyone to do the same. Trash company.

Following the mass layoffs in April, all we kept hearing was to prepare for more layoffs in November/December. I certainly haven’t seen it. Instead, we’re still far too top-heavy at the mid-management level with senior reps and getting their usual inflated $30k-$40k bonuses in a down year after several employees lost their jobs in the spring. Yeah, let’s see how long that strategy will be sustainable.
