Thread regarding 3M layoffs

They're not earning their pay

They're not earning their pay

Most regular employees would love to spend a month shadowing the executives to see what they really do. I have always wondered what type of decisions they have to make that rate million dollar plus compensation. Do they really come to conclusions/decisions that a "normal" person wouldn't? Are they really inspiring, visionary leaders that directly impact the companies success? What would happen if they took 6 months or even a year off, would anyone really notice. Same for the board of directors. I think they should have to quantify their successes outside of the stock price increasing.

In one of its product lines where its patent is due to run out. Instead of asking R&D to come out with new products. The VP ask manufacturing to reduce unit cost so as to protect sales. We dont need high paid VPs to make such decisions.

with the so call advance model it is making it more blatant. they created more layers of VP and directors who just collate data from region and report up. don't really think it is improving efficiency with such high paid reporters

Make wise arse decisions which mostly turn out to be incorrect...then layoff people while blurting out statements such as * improving operational efficiency, reducing structural overheads...etc.etc*

Power point slides, mind maps, politics, collating reports, warming their chair by sitting on it all day, talking about integrity, social justice...other such big a– words etc...
