Sad....this company has changed. Aside from a change in business strategy, it is not even a shell of itself. When you think of all your meaningful relationships, hard work, connections with customers, being an ALLSTATER!!, don’t feel bad. Focus on the time you knew you were doing the right thing and worked for a company that was aligned and valued what you did “to protect people from risk”. A company that valued employees who lived that vision.

The whole insurance industry is a scam. Spent most of my career in it and it got worse & worse over time. Leaders preach that we are "helping people"....the only people really getting helped are the top execs. Get out while you can.
IT ALL STARTED WITH GREED.
Impossible to reach their metrics and daily numbers. They’re firing us and replacing us after setting us up for failure. They’re Reposting our jobs at entry level wages too!
Interesting... the commentary suggests that Allstate had been a great company up until a year or so ago.
I disagree.
Companies that can’t grow market share aren’t “great” and Allstate has been hemorrhaging market share for decades and coincides with TW’s stint as CEO. Sure, he’s well versed at knowing how to keep the stock price inflated. However, he’s done that at the expense of the customer by continually stripping away front line resources. Customers understand this and respond by taking their business elsewhere.
Now there’s not much else that can be taken away in terms of front line resources except for the pension plan and we all know he’d never take that away, right...?
It does no good to become like the competition when you have to destroy and soil your reputation in the industry to do it. They like to preach that it takes years to build a good reputation but minutes to ruin it. They certainly don't live by it.
They seem to think that it is only customers that talk about their bad experiences with Allstate but former and current employees talk about their Allstate nightmares just as much if not more.
I remember when I was proud to say I worked for Allstate. Now I'm embarrassed to even mention it's name. The customer service and employee recognition that this company had built for many years is dissolving within a year right before our eyes. And what's sad is that the leaders know it but wish to ignore it and tell you everything is great and just keep working hard. They should should be ashamed of themselves. I pray for this company and the hypocrites that run it.
As an insider the observations seem out of sync with what is taking place. Honesty integrity morality have been tossed out the door by the ivory tower leaders. The original post is correct to those of us that have spent decades with this company and devoted ourselves to their success. I was proud to be part of the Allstate team but sadly this transformation process is a sickening reminder how corporate fat cats hold no value for humanity. This mad scramble to change this company into just another clone of all the competition. Innovation, compassion has no place in this scorched earth process taking place. Losing the trust of employees will haunt them forever, losing the trust of the consumer will lead to failure. Fond memories of what was once a great place to work will soon fade.
