Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

BUY BUY BBBY

I left this train wreck a while ago. It not hard to see where this company is headed. There are better retailers that appreciate their associates and managers. Have faith in yourself. Best decision I ever made. I didnt realize how bad bbby was until I left. I feel like a new person today, full of life and I make less money. My family likes the new me, I like the new me. You can do it!!!

Ironic that someone says it's a Public Board (which it is ) and if you do not like the comments you can ignore or leave. It is ironic because you obviously do not like their comments but you post. So you can post..but they can't because YOU do not agree with them? SMH

I think it is strange that people that have left the company need to come back to say negative things. Venting is healthy but I do not think it is healthy when you have been gone awhile.its kinda weird Let's use this analogy: you are in a good relationship but you keeping bringing up the bad things about your ex..sorry but it means you have not moved on in a healthy way. And "burn to the ground?" Yup..that sounds real maturw

To the people who are asking ex employees why they go back to this board to read or comment.... working 10, 15, or 20 years+ for one company is going to leave some emotional attachment. Let people vent. Its a public board, and if you don't like the comments, then you can leave or just ignore the comments? I dunno.

I worked for this company for over a decade and I left last year. I was fortunate enough to have a partner who could support us while I went back to school to finish my degree in a completely different field. Like many of you, I had a love/hate relationship with this company. There were times when it was awesome, but unfortunately, most of those times were from 2016 and before. I stuck it out longer than I should have, and that was because I still had hope for this company.

I knew it was time to go when they started cutting off our legs and arms and still expected us to have the same results, with 50% of our previous workforce.

I am thankful for the opportunity to work here, and I will always check in every now and then to see how everyone is doing. I don't check it every day, just once every 3 months. Its kind of like checking in on your ex who you amicably split with, but still care about it some ways.

Or, maybe, some people like to go back here because they didnt split so amicably and want to watch it deteriorate and then eventually burn to the ground. 🤷‍♀️

whoever commented and said BBBY has done well throughout this is a complete dumb–s.

BBBY is losing brick and mortar sales tremendously in favor of online sales. But this is the kicker of it Theyre using their store labor to ship out 100s of orders out of stores and shipping merchandise to stores just to ship it back out.

No one is on the floor to help the customers that do come in to generate any sales and if they did come in for something the entire store is empty cause if someome orders. For instance just yesterday I had to send out 6 of the 7 Emeril Air Fryers we just got in earlier that day. Nothing for customers to buy.

BBBY is failing to capitialize on the only boom going on right now with the online orders. UPS, USPS and FedEx have all shown up with budget rental trucks, uhuals and even personal vehicles to even handle the volume of orders. And when BBBY could be fulfilling orders from warehouses instead of paying twice for shipping, wasting store labor and foregoing your store sales by having no one in the store on the floor to help anyone with no merchandise.

I give them until the end of next year to go bankrupt.

I just left about two months ago. I agree it is like coming out of the fog. You do not realize how bad it was and how much anxiety you had from going into a sinking ship everyday. Glad you are in a much better place.

I did the same too recently. Had been there far too long to take the pay cut, especially with limited future opportunities there. Best choice I ever made. There are plenty of places out there to utilize your skills obtained in retail if you look. I still wish a good future for Baby and those who choose to stay. I just hope they treat you better then I felt I was being treated.

You may not like where you were, but the company is headed in the right direction. Sales are improving and the future is bright for B3. Check the financial news if you don't believe.
