Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

It doesn't matter which department you work in. If Norfolk Southern looks at it as a liability toward their effort to get to the .60 operating ratio then they'll lay you off. They don't care whether you have been there 5, 10 or even 20 years. They had all those cuts last year and largely it did not do much so my guess is whenever they see the latest numbers they'll cut again. Any program work likely will end. Anything they can either sub contract or sell will happen. I used to think I'd be safe but now after watching all this I know it is not true
