Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Union

Took my money, moved heaven and earth for the rep to stay on the shift he wanted whenever there was a job shake up. got new jobs posted with decent days off on the shift he was on. Would not fight for the contract.

Work out “deals”with management without voting. Use my money to take trips, remind us any pushback will open flood gates, and any contract violations we were told the company has the right. Send union big wigs to our meetings to lie to our faces, and do not know the contract at all. Yep, that about sums it up... taxation without representation.

Correction. The unions are NOT “powerless to stop them”, the union CHOOSES not to stop them. You know, as in worthless, cowards, snowflakes, crooks, ect.

The company routinely violates the contract now and the unions are powerless to stop them. Told us we could work both rest days any holiday we want, but they won't pay doubletime, a clear violation. Keep people on duty for 18 hours on road trips, then refuse to pay that doubletime too.....oh and they declare an "emergency" situation whenever it suits them and can do pretty much whatever they want. I don't see bosses working these so called emergencies though.

The unions are going bye bye. The unions themselves have let it happen. Unions are a thing of the past and the company knows it. They will never put up a fight now. The unions allowed it to get to this point, and there will never be a way to go back. It’s over brothers. The last couple of mechanical cuts were the best people they had and they knew it but still didn’t care. Agreement employees are not in Norfolk Southerns future. I’d give 1-2 years and NS will be absorbed into another company. 25% max might make the cut but no more than that. If you do make be ready to relocate.

Watch your local Union reps sprint to get into management. The writings on the wall and a select few know even more.

i tried to think of something witty to add but your right, that does about sum it up. they won't even try to make the company abide by the contract when it is as plain as black and white. makes you wonder what are you even paying dues for
