I’ve always wondered that. Wouldn’t it make more sense to attract customers that actually HAVE money to spend? Instead of someone trying to get another 65% off a sweater that is already $9.99?

No, it doesn’t. But we don’t have to close and board up storefront. Gucci with a G is just too much for today’s suffering.
I’m sorry.. Gucci with a G.. doesn’t rhyme with Belk.
Actually you have to have a product or service that people want. People will part with the dollar if it’s needed. Air fryers and luggage are done a dozen..
just a general rule of thumb, in order to MAKE money you have to attract people that HAVE money. Business 101.
Belk has never been high end. They aren’t even mid-range st this point.
Wow! Y'all have turned this into a class warfare! I took the initial post as questioning sustainability of selling to the bargain shopper. Not much profit on items selling for $5 & $10! Jobs will be at risk if that's all we are selling.
These customers are what’s affording you to still be employed. Be thankful. Money is the same no matter whose hand it comes out of
not until Harper took over, these customers are hillbilly welfare
Ummm because it’s their business model?
Look up the word “demographic”
