I love how people who used to work for Macy's tell us to “leave while you can” or “get out now.” You actually think it’s that easy to “just quit” when we have bills to pay? I’m not talking about credit card bills, or some stupid c-ap. I’m talking about rent, food, utilities. Things we actually need to survive. Most of us live paycheck to paycheck, and some of us are still trying to find something better while trying to survive. But go ahead and call us losers when we’re doing the best that we can for ourselves and our families.

It’s really funny how you miserable employees come here to complain and then get mad at former employees for telling you to get out while you can. No one is telling you to walk away from you job.
I think what we’re trying to tell you is that you’re investing your time and talent into a company that doesn’t value you. Macy’s has a reputation of laying off middle aged colleagues and up. Do you know hard it is to find a job in your 40s?
We’re trying to tell you that sacrificing your holidays with your family isn’t going to be worth it in 10 years from now. I’ve seen it all in this company. Macy’s will do whatever it’s needed to survive. And jeff will do whatever is needed to give himself that big bonus. Macy’s used to be a magical company to work for. But it’s no longer that. Learn to be okay with knowing you deserve more. Let me point something out to you, in the years I’ve been at Macy’s I’ve only seen a handful of people ACTUALLY RETIRE with the company. Think about that.
100% to all posters. How do you up and leave when you have bills to pay, and while they are paltry, benefits? Seniority is a benefit too. It just isn't easy. It's easy when you're at a level where you know people at other companies. Not easy when you know no one and you're just struggling. That being said, if it is at all possible, then try. If not, no reason at all to beat yourself up.
Well Said!
It's more pathetic that former employees still come to this forum. Losers
You're not a loser and don't let anyone tell you you are. You are working hard to provide for you and your family. You are admirable. Hold your head high.
