I think there are only 10 guys on here stirring the pot everyday. Just go do your jobs and don’t create drama here. Everyone is stressed and worried, there’s way too much going on and every time one of you post something you’re affecting the mental health of your peers. Everyone reads these and gets worried. Shut up, do your jobs and live your lives and quit making others miserable because you’re miserable. You’re all adults and you should be ashamed of yourselves sitting here whining about every single thing while collecting a pay cheque from what is a clearly one of the highest paying companies in Canada. So shut up.

What bothers me is how tone deaf the exec is. A couple years back they reduce the bonus percentage for almost every employee below managers. Manager and above they don’t touch and see nothing wrong with this. It’s not our fault, it’s the compensation survey. 🙄

And now once again they are reducing bonuses for employees while giving extra retention bonuses to management.

If they said we need to reduce bonuses for everyone because it was a bad year I would totally get that and see that as absolutely fair. I am grateful we are getting a bonus for sure. But when they reduce employees bonuses and at the same time give extra massive bonuses to these select few chosen people and SVPs well then you’ve lost me. Pure do as we say not as we do mentality.

Love when Exec’s post on this site to call us all whiners. Let them eat cake!

They call it the layoff.com for a reason. It’s where employees come to share information when companies like this lay people off and lie to their employees in the process (retention bonuses). it seems to work as it flushed out the bonus issue to keep them accountable.

I’ve heard this site really angers AP and the Exec and they have HR constantly monitoring it.

EVERYONE in the company is talking and reading this site and now even openly talking about it.

It will take 2 to 3 years for this culture to ever start to improve. Layoffs during Covid, lie to employees, and paying off your friends with extra bonuses.

The only thing making me miserable is wondering all during my Christmas break and for the next month whether or not I have a job to support my family. Not too worried about what people post here or not.

Well being as some of these posts have a few thousand views you would be in the minority, most likely HR or communications. If someone doesn’t want to be affected don’t read, pretty simple.

Most people post here when they feel like they are being taken advantage of or see other’s unfairly enriching themselves. Like our mgmt taking extra retention bonuses while dropping bonuses for the rest of the employees. Like SVPs taking millions in bonuses while adding little to no value. Like laying off 2,000 people into the worst job market ever while getting retention bonuses. Do they really need another $600k?

Our management should be ashamed of themselves for misleading staff about retention bonuses and then quietly changing the FAQ when they got called out on it. First there were none and then all of a sudden there were some for select people.

So in short get stuffed.
