Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

How to deal with animosity?

I try to be as good a worker as possible because I care about keeping my job, at least for a while until I manage to find something better. However, since I got this job, I have been suffering horrible animosity from my superior for a reason unknown to me.

She doesn't seem to notice how much I work and how much effort I put in, it seems that it doesn’t matter to her because I get no respect at all. Moreover, the more I work, the worse it gets because she always finds a way to devalue my contribution and says it’s not good. It’s awful for me to work under that kind of pressure.

Even my colleagues have begun to notice the obvious hatred she has for me. Have you had a similar situation? I’m afraid that it will raise even more tension if I try to talk to her about it?

Just don't be quite about it! Help the next person by doing an official open door and reporting to the ethics hotline. You may lose your job but reporting this sorry piece of sh#@! will create a negative file on this piece of sh@#t's record.

Things like that happen and probably not an uncommon situation. Walmart's politics are so bad that they can make up such ridiculous reasons to make one look bad. They don't care and they are bold because they can get away with it since no one cares unless they know you are well connected. If more people stand up and make that noise, they may listen.

The joy of the working world! You're on a path to hell and it's just a matter of time.

What's happening here is that you are now your bosses projection of something she hates about herself. The only way to fix this is to find out what it is and help her overcome it or find a new job or just transfer within the company if possible - but act fast as the political landscape has changed and the economy will soon be plunging into darkness. Any other prospects may be disappearing and will begin to disappear fast!

I’m going through the same thing with a displaced asm. Try not to let it get to you.

Speak with your manager and have specific instances of her behavior you do not believe is fair which you can discuss. If you continue to have issues, you can use the open door process. However, once you do that, you should be prepared to find another job because the open door process will be the beginning of the end unless this manager has had complaints previously. It shouldn’t be that way, but it frequently works that way.
