Good managers quitting & RVPs not able to travel

Anyone else having multiple store managers quitting in their regions? Bailing before the ship sinks I take it?

Also, our RVP was to visit our store this week but had to cancel due to a ban on travel. 🤔

when I left belk in 2016 or RVP was making $200,000 and only worked 4 days a week, never was available on fridays

come early 2021 the following things will happen:

  • -RVP’S will be dwindled down. salaries cut.
  • Store managers making too much will be let go, especially if they are not performing well.
  • -STM positions will become $13 an hr “sale captain positions”
  • -Loss prevention (what’s left of them) buh-bye.
  • Stores will low sales will be closed.
  • -there will be a shakeup at corporate, executives go bye-bye.
  • Vendors will sue belk for not being paid.
  • Lisa Harper will gain 200 pounds and have to come to work using a mobility scooter.

Speaking to ‘retired and blessed’. What you are saying is very accurate. I am a lower manager and my SM left in OCT. They hinted that I would be responsible for the store until after Christmas.
They had no idea I was interviewing. When I gave my notice, all of a sudden, I became very important to them; Asked what they could do to keep me.
Mind you, still no SM on the horizon. This is happening across the company. I personally know of another store outside of my region that is in a similar situation.
Oh, and yes. I’m still leaving, still moving on. I never even asked what they had to offer. Like you, I do believe there will be major changes at the store level come 1st quarter.

Great time to save money by creating open store manger position the store is already set for the holidays and will not needed in Jan/ feb for Big Clearance set-ups .I am sure the RVP’’s are being challenged to save money and possible promote people ( already know who is on the chopping block ) who’s jobs will be eliminated in February by next round of store job eliminations( musical chairs 6 people to fill 1 job ) . The RVP also can use as a motivation tool to tell someone who is in a promotable status to step up and run a store ( show me what you will do on 4 hours sleep ) while paying him half the salary of the former store manger . The RVP then gets credit for “ developing his staff “ and has reduced his management payroll to get a bigger bonus . Many SM have very high salaries and be have been promised RVP jobs in the future . The reality is this is the end of the line young high intellectual savvy merchants are no longer needed to pull fulfillment orders and whip your staff until they submit to your daily request for a pint of blood with a smile on their face and gratitude in their heart ( Please can I have some more ) .So sad once a great place to work is Hell on Earth.

Before sears closed the put a travel restriction on corporate employees and also froze all corporate. Credit cards.

yes! They are dropping like flies, one manager left and took a job for less because she couldn’t take it anymore.
