My manager is upset that sales are down and he’s taking it out on us, threatening to cut hours if he doesn’t see any ‘improvements’. We have had our hours cut to the bone, at this point if we get any more cut I’ll consider it a vacation from all the work we are doing while he does absolutely nothing except take a smoke break every hour on the hour!

I’m under the impression all store’s allocated hours are constantly being adjusted by sales? My store posts xtra weekly available hours for associates if wanted.
As a manager, I can pretty much tell you that every store’s sales are down YTD to last year. It all depends on what kind of info they want to feed you; example: is your manager sharing sales to plan or Last year? Are they sharing Month to Date or Week to Date?
A manager can not threaten you with hours. Or pick on certain ones to shorten hours. It has to be across the board with the exception of full time associates have to work at least 30 hrs per week.
He still has a store to keep open and he has to have associates in order to run it. He’s just full of hot air🙄
Call the excel line and tell them your manager is harassing you and he asked you to give him a handy J, but Monday morning you’ll have a new manager.
