Thread regarding Imperial Oil Limited layoffs

Brighter days are ahead.

I got laid off yesterday. If I didn't, I would be agonizing if and when round 2 is coming, anticipating how brutal my next PDS feedback will be, and hating some awful coworkers that are selfish human beings (IOL has great people but also some terrible ones). So weird enough, I'm relieved I got laid off for my sanity!

I just got the news and I feel relieved too. The past a couple of years have been awful. I had to work with some really difficult people. It’s for my own health benefit that I don’t have to go back. Although I do appreciate the past experiences, all the trainings and some great people I have worked with. I know that I won’t stay with the company the in the long run, even if there’s no mass layoff because of the cultural misfit. I look forward to my future. And the past only makes me stronger.

I contemplate the same, told I was staying yet worried about future with uncertainty and studies already hinted to by XOM for 2021/2022 which owns 70%~ of our Company. To those forced to leave wish you the best... feel free to share your future journeys and successes.

I feel the same way. Got a lot of sympathies, but in reality, I don't need to play the IOL Hunger Games anymore!
