Thread regarding Belk layoffs

All I know ...One belk doesn’t work

Have to have individual accountability, folks. When you don’t, the majority of the work falls on a hand full of associates. Then the good ones get burned out and leave. This is not elementary school where participation ribbons should be handed out.
Unfortunately, there are some store managers who don’t care as long as it gets done. Many of your STMs and MTMs are caught in the middle or don’t even realize it because their load is so great... heck, some of them are dealing with the same thing with some management not pulling their weight either.
Seriously, have you ever heard of housekeeping and HR being placed under general selling? Then you wonder why the holiday metrics for sales floor selling had no extra room for seasonal?
Our store had to register train many of the new associates that were for fulfillment and Bopis ( shhh!) just so we could cover the floor. I’m sure other stores have had to do this too. In fact, we have a few that have not even touch fulfillment or BOPIS.
We have already had many long time associates recently quit but I honestly don’t think Belk cares. But the scary thing?... with many tasks, we are down to just one associate with the knowledge of how to do the task. That’s no way to run a business. All it would take is for the associate to get sick or quit then the store is in deep p–poo.

All I know is my store manager makes $2,000 a week to do nothing. Works 8-5 or 9-4, takes a million days off, and plays online games at work with the door closed. Oh and has lots of snacks. What a complete joke and waste of payroll.
