Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Early layoffs before Christmas?

Has anyone heard anything about a warmup round of layoffs before the end of 2020? Been hearing some talk of this.

Exxon just pulled the lever yesterday and will Do so again in March. Wouldn’t be surprised if COP decides that we should do likewise.

OP is listening to rumors. Nothing will happen before year end. Q1 & 2 for certain. Xmas optics would be bad. Layoffs without VCIP would be subject to legal considerations. Most EOIs will be honored. Those that aren’t honored will be both a compliment and a bad mark from which the recipient will be forever remembered. The chosen have all been rewarded and know they have nothing to worry about. The future has been determined. Conchology will have run its course in two years. Many careers will be ruined and a few will be made. It’s never about fairness. Tough times.

We just start submitting EOI. I don't think layoff will come very soon. For sure next year 2021. I just wonder how many people will submit the EOI......
