Has anyone else heard that macys has declared part of its corporate offices in long island city as essential workers if there was another shutdown in NYC? I heard it was approved to be considered "manufacturing " deeming it to be an essential business.

Guys i cant help but to admit macys was declared essential,im asking for you guys to help encourage me of the benefits are as i know i should be grateful for our jobs. I think im bitter because i am working my tail off to fight a fight that they created pre pandemic, i work in corporate (lower level) and i can tell the store employees we do experience the same pain.
Our store manager announced in a morning meeting that Macy’s is essential .

Not sure if it only pertains to shipping online orders only or if this means it would include curb side pick up. Either way they pulled a move because fashion apparel is not essential.
I understand they are trying to stay open , but there is No way Macy’s is essential theres way too many other retailers that are . They do not sell food or toiletries !!
Interesting. So if another shut down is in order, for all intense purposes all store employees could work in the stores to support Fullfillment? Even if the store is closed to pubic?
