So here we are after Black Friday and I am pretty sure many of you have experienced how 2020 Black Friday looked like. To be honest I was very concerned. Doesn’t mater if vaccine comes out or not. Macys already lost billions in few months.
I would not be surprised if macys cut more people next January or February.
Things that will shock you would be closing more stores, cutting managers jobs in store, changing your store to omni, cutting hours and much more.
Think about this, most of macys corporate people are working from home. So, why would they need extra real estate.
2021 will be shocking. And yes, expect the unexpected. Wait until your store manager calls you and say “hey can you please come to my office for quick chat” next thing, you will be thinking about your bills in their office and thinking about if you can find a job.
I am sorry and I feel the same way I am every year counting my days.
If you think retail stores will stay forever you are making yourself happy, if you think people would come to the malls and shop you are in heaven, if you think the business of retail will never die than you just met Jesus.

Good post and right on. Wake up people.
Someone finally gets it. Big dump has to cut 1.5 billion in one year. Now that number might be worse being that Xmas in a lot of store is horrendous. You will see managers gone , associates making too much gone , hours cut , less merchandise, ghost town
