Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Store managers or operation visual and Business admin

Corporate leak!!
Corporate is taking into consideration to either keep OV merchandiser or store managers.
Store managers do not know all aspects of what an OV would do.
OV can’t do more because of their store manager restriction and pushing.

Big peeps think if there is no store manager your whole team of OV and MB can handle the business.
Tjx company is doing the same. Even though they have store managers but their store manager works like what we have today in Macy’s called MTM or OV.
Tjx divisional/district manager is kind of a store manager and they are off price but where macys is going too.
Macys is realizing this too late but yes it is in the conversations.
OV will no longer or the store managers be no longer stay tuned.

A store manager makes 30-50% more in salary than an ovm. The cuts will be about money I bet the store manager goes. They are useless anyways

My guess is they would cut the OVM and have the Captains, or previous leads report in to the Store Manager. In the past it was an expectation that to become a VPSM promoted from within one had to hold the MTM position . Store Managers attend planning weekly and really arent unfamilliar with the processes.

So Op/visual might get the boot or store manager? Both useless. Just save the money and get both out. Captain and sales can handle it

I think the person who posted this realized why all the info is available now on the portal. All your signing and what needs to get done is posted weekly and communicated through corp com.
Most of the SM ask their OMV OR OVM what’s happening next week and when is signing what markdowns looks like?? What is fulfillment??

You got the answer now. SM has no clue what’s going on and only OM and MB are providing all this information to them.
If SM is cut than you directly have those people who communicate to your DM and than DM com to SM.
So why need SM if they are sitting in the office and getting all the info from reg or dm. Why not just communicate to om.
