Thread regarding Belk layoffs

More insanity...cruise ships?

Royal Caribbean Group reached a definitive agreement to sell its three-ship Azamara brand to Sycamore Partners, a private equity firm, in a $210 MILLION ALL CASH DEAL.

The 690-passenger Azamara Journey, Azamara Quest and Azamara Pursuit each measure just over 30,000gt. The ships were built in 2000 and 2001.
They are currently in Glasgow at the King George V dock, where they've spent the bulk of their layup period.

Two relatively small, 20 year old ships ( in the nautical world that is considered OLD!) that have not been at sea in some time for a cool 1/4 $ billion IN CASH. Oh yeah 50 well paid current staff ...doing what?

Talk about offshore deals! Should make every Belk associate happy...maybe they will get discounts on Covid coffins in the sea?

Tacky surroundings, bad music, everything overpriced (especially the c-ap meals covered in aspic)..

Yep, sounds just like Sycamore!
