Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Lowes associates do NOT get paid enough

  • High volume customers with very little protection and care for sanitation with a pandemic going
  • Back breaking heavy lifting depending on the department
  • loading and unloading commercial vehicles
  • Short staffing of departments
  • The expectation of knowing highly technical aspects of home renovations
  • The constantly changing inconsistent schedules

Lowes is a laggard in compensation with walmart/target and many other warehouses upping their pay slowly to the 15$ an hour mark.

If only a associate had a chance to agree to a wage before they start.

It's sad but probably true at these big box stores where shareholders expect a high return. Back in the day you could make a living working a small hardware store in town, not these days.

Once they are forced to go to $15.00/hr, and they will be, many current employees will be either layed off or converted to part time with huge hour reductions. But hey, you will get $15.00/ hr! Yay!!

Be careful what you wish for.
