Those who had taken leadership training / courses from external sources or had worked with other companies will know how BS, hopeless and clown managers Imperial is producing. Any Company can layoff employees for business need or lack of work. However, greedy and incompetent managers from Imperial are firing employees when everyone is super busy and productive with their work, providing deliverables on time with lack of resources and taking tons of work load. These leaders are not eligible to understand Company's assets and only thinking about their money and profit. Their only objective is to get more salary, bonus and stocks by firing employees continuously even in this covid situation. I can guarantee they will do it continuously till end of 2022 and will outsource most of the work no matter if this strategy will work or not.
Even though it's frustrating to lose the job, in the long run it's a helping factor for long term health. Most of the folks are suffering by stress due to job uncertainty, work loads ( 3 times) and BS activities by managers. Stress is a k–ler doesn't matter if you are physically fit or not. Severance Package with EI is not bad at all as long as you didn't wasted your previous earning money. Some smart junior or mid levels folks are getting jobs elsewhere and resigning. When leader is self fish and only think about their pocket, it's not possible to work continuously as long as you have adequate qualification.
Emit Canada has been completely wiped out over the last decade and those few who remain have few opportunities or future. 30 PERCENT cut in December. It was really higher than that percentage among the working class since they were too cheap to pay severance to a dozen or so fossilized managers who are retirement eligible and are lingering about aimlessly generating PowerPoint. You are next......
I hope not. But if the push comes to shove, I hope it weeds out the the incompetent managers and teamleads this time as opposed to employees.
I have been here for 4 years now and I am not worried.. I work in the field closer the boots are to the pipe the safer you are.
Hw3 is the business study on how they can move roles out of high cost locations to places like India. Similar to what service orgs like EMIT did over the past 10 years.
What is hw3?
TMTS packages are expected to be rolled out to management in February so my guess is mid-year for the next round. There will be a focus on maintaining seniors to increase the risk tolerance.
Random firing/PIP will start from May and massive layoff will be at the end of the year. It will continue till end of 2022. Company’s policy is to send all work to overseas. They will keep only entry level low paying employees with some very seniors close to retirement in addition to supervisors and managers. Mid level with decent salaried employees will be the next target.
Hw3 studies are estimated to be complete by around mid2021. So expect further reductions between then and mid 2022. How they will apply to each country may be different but these will be heavy on the non services companies.
