Getting rid of remaining ASM’s and OPS?

“The company is planning great improvements. Changes that will ease the work load.”

“We need to hire more part timers to learn the merchandising and operations tasks to take pressure off.”

So how long before those changes eliminate the remaining ASMs and OPS all together?

Do they offer severance if they get rid of full timers?

“And with the few Regional Ops personnel left, NO ONE is left that is qualified to train someone to be an Ops Manager”

As an ops I can 100% agree with this statement. I was put in the position with no training. After months of polite questions and constantly following up on a training plan with SM AND district staff I was told to figure out ONE day I could go to another store and train with their ops person. ONE DAY. And it really was only 5 hours because I’m her words she had work to do and really couldnt show me anything else. After a year I’m still reaching out on a weekly basis to ask how to do things and my district ops person hasn’t replied to an email since before holiday. I still struggle with the basics and there’s never any follow up because yes SMs are not comfortable in OPS and my DM knows literally nothing about it. Ops is the new Red Headed step child of the store leader ship

I am a former Ops Mgr—finally was able to get out. I worked for the company a good number of years and was loyal for many years. But enough is enough.

They may want to get rid of Ops Mgrs, but I don’t see how they can. Store Managers do NOT know Ops. Make no mistake about it, they might think they do, but they have no clue.

Some people work part time because they WANT to work part time. The insults to part timers show the immaturity of some posters on here

Company will be history in less than 2 years.....won’t make a difference anyway.

They don't pay well enough to pass along all those tasks to part timers. Why do you think turnover is so high amongst PT's? Not to mention most Pt's have zero interest or motivation to do so when they get no benefits or other motivation from this company.

They will get rid of full timers before OPS
Just my thought but, all the benefits paid out they would save lots of money to cut full timers...then the stores will really go to c-ap!
I know in My store we have several long time associates that work all over the store!

Don’t know how they can get rid of the ops just yet when the logistics are still screwed up, cip, umr, claims report, rtv procedures,supplies....the list goes on!!!! They did get rid of our asm’s and we have a hard and soft side supervisor.Until they streamline the inefficient operational procedures they still need an ops mgr!

The SM can’t run the building with all pimple popping part timers. The ones that they made supervisors with keys s—.
If they get rid of the remaining asms and ops they are sinking the ship.
I agree they need to save money by cutting more positions but I think that will hurt them more than help the business.
