I sent resumes to dozens of places, but getting called in for an interview is like finding a needle in a haystack. I’m still safe here, but I can’t stand the atmosphere in this company anymore.
The labor market is very bad and I doubt it will get any better by the summer, in fact it will probably get worse before it gets better. So I don’t even know how good it is to be picky in a situation like this.

I have a feeling this thread started with a conversation with two or more executives: "Have someone in HR write a post about how hard it is to find a job, maybe that will convince people to stay".
Having gone through that struggle myself I can tell you that taking a job for similar pay but better benefits, environment and future growth/career opportunities is the best choice I could have made. Imo it is worth taking a lateral move to get out & move on. Use connections on LinkedIn. Don't give up. There are jobs out there. Get your foot in the door then work on the future. Spinning in that negative downward spiral is not productive from a career or mental health perspective.
