After literally losing a few years at Allstate and being laid off in a very ugly way, I became very picky when it came to finding a new job. It took me several months to recover from the stress.
My friend and former colleague who was laid off at the same time as me, accepted the first opportunity that presented itself and now he is again stuck in a similar (slightly better) atmosphere than it was here.

Pickiness correlates to bank account balance.
Those without savings can’t afford to be picky while those with a 6 month emergency fund + severance from 20 years of service can be as picky as they please.
It doesn’t get much worse than Allstate, and I say this having worked for multiple companies prior to Allstate.
I plan on taking the first thing that will give me a comparable salary/benefits.
