Working at RJ is no longer good for my mental and physical health. How does Cobra benefits work? Can you take your life insurance?

I obtained insurance via the ACA Marketplace once my COBRA expired 4 years ago. It’s at really good option and good coverage. It’s less expensive than RJ and though I have a high deductible of $7500, I have good coverage for office visits and pr-scrip-ions, plus free preventative care testing. I’m with the Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Florida plan. Might be worth investigating!
I would test the waters but stay where you are. I kind of wish I had done that. I was called about jobs while I was at RayJay but never really listened. Ray Jay used to be different than many firms..they aren't anymore. That doesn't mean they are worse than others though.
As mentioned above Cobra is expensive. I am one of the lucky 550 that were let go back in September. Only good thing that came out of it for me was RJ paying my Cobra for a year. I daydream about Paul, Bella, Vin and Andy Z. getting a "no confidence vote" from the board but that recent article gave them a vote of confidence after cutting their salaries. Go figgure.
COBRA is very expensive when you are paying for it yourself. Consider your monthly contributions plus what RJ pays. And no, life insurance is not included. If you are under 65 without pre-existing conditions there are good options on the health insurance marketplace though.
You are able to update your LinkedIn profile that you’re open to opportunities from recruiters that is only visible to recruiters. That’s not to say the recruiters from RJ HR won’t see it.
Good luck to you.
