Hope you folks still aren’t holding your breath waiting on your “People Persons” to give package offers

Ask for a lump sum instead of a raise and retire

I'm starting to think that theres not going to be a 75% VRIP this year with an out on April 1st !
Anyone else have the same feeling ?
I should have taken it last year.
Maybe they will offer a smaller pkg later in the year ?
Has anyone heard any credible talk of VRIP offering in 2021 ?

I think no packages or layoffs, just raises coming.

Much talent has been lost in previous VRIP's. As I think of previous years when I received the offers,
my people leader had reached out and asked my thoughts and intentions regarding retirement very early in the year ! This year is different, that conversation has not taken place, has anyone else had that discussion this year ?
Sometimes GE has patterns that help predict next things that may happen. I wish I was smarter and less greedy , I should have taken previous offer. Having had multiple costly marriages have precipitated my greed
(need money for my own survival, have given up much of my 401K) Maybe I should just go and leave the madness behind. I've already lost the supplement based on my age. Last year a coworker who was 70 did not take the package and was let go anyway with no package, just small severence I think. I
I suppose if no offer real soon I will just leave, probably what GE wants or predicts with their data anyway.

I think they let the talent go on previous VRIP’s and they may be feeling the results. Also if so many older pension holders feel things are bad, why offer a VRIP? Most will eventually go on their own. This saves $ spent on these packages. This is why one needs to run and not look back, we never know what will be offered in the future or what might be taken away!

Yes you are right, I forgot to use the quotes around permanent. In the past, Madison has had it's share of reductions in long-term staff with corresponding or greater increases in Bangalore and Wuxi.

"Permanent" employees... funny, Lol.

There is no such thing as permanent employees with the General Electric Co. including GE Healthcare.

Annual Rif's and often times more than that, even if you keep your down we will find you from GEHC HR staff.

Madison manufacturing hired about 250 temp workers for vent production. Laid off about 140 so far. A ways to go yet before getting to permanent employees.

Depends which business group you work for. In Madison, WI we make ventilators and anesthesia machines. 2019 equipment sales $430M; 2020 sales $1.2B. Doubt layoffs coming soon here.

Maybe today will be the day ?
I sure hope we hear something soon.
I'm gonna hit the button soon, but would rather have a package as a cushion.
Will wait a couple more weeks.

Last year beginning of February was the offer to 60 plus individuals. You needed to leave on April 1 previous years were in late January.

I'm hoping any day now (probably on a Monday) that we hear of this years VRIP offering at GEHC.
I more than ready to accept the offer this year and Retire. Keeping my finger crossed.
Managers are not leaking any info so far.

Aviation offered a VRIP day before Xmas week for those that turn 60 and over in 2021. One week for every year service. Can't draw unemployment and have to be out by Jan 31st. Does not look like that good of a package but aviation was always been c-appy about separation pay. Healthcare should be a better package if they make offer.
