Thread regarding Hitachi Vantara layoffs

Hitachi and Cognizant

Agreed on the fact that the company is positioning for it’s self for sale. The last thing a buying company wants is blood on their hands. I would almost assume a deal has been made and that they are letting people go to meet contract requirements. Hitachi has sold a few companies in the last 12 months. HV continues to bleed them dry even though the company did meet sales goals for Q3.

Highlight from thread +18E89nEv /// I absolutely agree, everything is being prepared for sale. However, I’m quite suspicious that the buyer would be Cognizant?

I had no idea that this company has 289,500 employees. This is insane with a turnover rate of 19%. Highest in the IT industry.

Cognizant has 18% attrition rate last year.

HV is ready for the sale with the reduction in headcount. This company is a mess.

‘more likely HV would acquire Cognizant and abandon any of the current structure’?!

That’s like saying Sprint (as a highly distressed company) would acquire T-Mobile (a better performing company). We obviously know what ended up happening.

Agree on that, what would Cognizant gain by acquiring ailing HV? The only thing that sells well is storage hardware and CTS would not want to get into the hardware business.
Notapp should buy HV, since it lacks a decent block storage line up for the high end workload, and HV customers dream of the day they can replace HNAS with Notapp.
