Is women shoes doing away with commissions, I remember this was suppose to happen this time last year. The majority of most of the women shoe departments you have to get a sales colleague to go in the back and see if its there. I f that does happen, they should bring the majority of the warehouse out on the floor where its self service. Who knows what will happen?
I am in Florida and most of our departments are draw vs commission sales. Understanding this will be no more. Cosmetics, Fine Jewelry are base plus commission and I don't think that is changing. Our shoes used to be draw vs commission and that changed a few years ago. Honestly don't know if they are base plus commission now. But they are not open sell either. Maybe this is better for colleagues because who knows when business or if business will ever be like it once was.
Why should cosmetics be on commissions?
No seriously, why? Look no further than an uber successful company like ULTA that has and has had a complete open stock cosmetics business these past years.
We don't need no poo-foo fru-froo cosmetic sales divas anymore.
Big ticket? Go to any of the major big box retailers, you can remodel an entire home, inside and out, spend 10's maybe a hundred thousand and don't need no stink'n commish salesperson.
Fine jewelery? LOL! You're kidding me. Fine jewels at M? Better yet, who wears the stuff anymore?
My manager told me as of 1/31/21 suits and shoes no commissions.
Will all locations just have open sell for shoes? I think that will be easier especially since support has taken over most aspects of shoes. From truck put away, markdowns, merchandising and half the time being runners and ringers for no extra money.
Fine Jewelry beauty, and big ticket all stay on commission. It's just ladies shoes and mens shoes/suits going off of it.
No more commission for fine jewelry or women’s shoes? How do you know?
