Thread regarding Accenture layoffs

An HR Question...

When a prospective employer runs a background check, does HR tell communicate reasons for leaving (quit, fired, etc.) or just dates of employment?

I was fired in September and wondering if I am required to tell them (upon asking why there’s a gap) if I was fired or just that I decided to leave.

In particular, the 'ineligible for rehire' practice in american firms is tantamount to simple egregious corporate corruption. You would not get away with it anywhere else in the world. A manager can simply tick a box and blacklist you with no due process or oversight whatsoever. Can you spell 'designed for nepotism'.

I have always implemented a policy of sacking the employer before they sacked me. It is simply one of the realities of adult life that most sackings have nothing to do with performance in the job and are largely socially or politically motivated. Incompetence is generally pretty low on the totem pole. For evidence of this check out your boss and his management peers. .... exactly.

It is always best to sack the useless d–k before he sacks you.
