Lots of managers are calling their direct reports about changes in organization changes. Good luck.

For those of you asking... you should read up on the WARN act, it's not required if a company just lays off 500 people, it's:
A situation where your employer lays off 500 or more full-time workers at a single site of employment
Probably both? It's not unheard of for a manager to get let go right after letting their reports go.
"Managers are notified today. " Of what? That they are getting laid off or of the list of their own employees they have to lay off?
Managers are notified today.
I see some questions about benefits here, if you are going to be RA'ed then get on the benefits slack channel. When the RA that was done in June, was announced and people told, many people join that slack channel and asked very good questions. There were HR people watching the channel who gave very good and complete answers. IT was a lot of help.
Your stock and GDP have very specific language included. It says you must be an active employee as of vesting date Otherwise you forfeit
What happens if you have stock or GDP that still needs to vest? do you lose that if you get cut?
Ignore what day people think it's going to be. Get off of this site NOW and send pings out to your network internally! Slack every person you've ever worked with and let them know that you're exploring. There ARE headcount approvals out there–this is not the same thing as an internal job posting. Managers know how this works, if someone with HC wants you, they can work with your management line to get you moved.
And obviously, prep your resume and start applying externally.
Pay attention. The cuts and anncts are on THURSDAY. Two more days people.
The job market is tough right now, I was laid off in June 2020 and still looking for job. My skills are in the Financial field and I am 56 years old, so I am sure my age is a factor. I have only received 6 interviews in 6 months, I am hoping it improves soon. Wish you all the best!
Got a 1 on 1 - Thursday. Times up I'd say.
If so many folks are getting cut, why are there no news articles and WARN notices?
How do companies avoid the press?
Severance pay somehow hides the news?
Re: HSA, if you’re employed for the first paycheck of the year, you should still be getting your disbursement from ibm. You can take your HSA with you...unsure about pre-tax contributions if affected by RSA tho.
Question about the medical insurance:
I know the let-go employee can still pay the group term rate to get one year medical coverage.
Will IBM contribute 800/1600 to HSA account, and will ex-employee still be able to contribute to HSA?
If Power is impacted, is it safe to assume Storage teams are too?
@1cws+18Rax38s, Alfred back, I’m in services
Best of luck to you this week.
If you think you are on the list of layoffs, don't make it easy for your management... Turn off your phone, turn off Slack... This IBM company only wants to treat their employees like c-ap.
And if you are not called this time around, it may be wise to update your resume and start looking for a better company. I did just that last year. You all deserve better.
Pretty sure I'm on the list c&c BU here. I was told I must have some work done by Wed at the latest, huge direction change from December since last week. Have had members moved from my team and told there would be a call later this week.
Alfred, what’s your BU? Are you in sales?
I’m pretty sure I’m on the list. I’ve got a 1-1 scheduled for Thursday, it’s a reoccurring meeting. Work has slowed down, so I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m on the chopping block.
Geographically, I live on an area that’s there a lot going on. Part of me doesn’t even want to bother looking internally.
I’m burnout after 10 years of worrying about layoffs, every 6 months.
Yes power included. 12 months medical leave. If you got a call invite from your FLM or SLM(your FLM could be on the RA list too), then you know what you are expecting. You have till Feb 15th to get accepted to other internal roles if you wish to stay at IBM. How many being impacted? I would say couple thousand globally. GTS might be safe from this round.. since newco is still hiring. I am a second line and I need to find spots for my people.
Is it impacting power systems?
Any medical coverage included in the severance package?
I'm on a client executive team and our entire team got eliminated.
Confirming BU: c&c, security, integration, data and aI software reps, client reps, managers, VPs, everyone will be notified this Thursday. RA Thursdays.. 30 day paid notice and 3 months severance. you can find internal roles but will compete with folks whose team got eliminated earlier last week. They do not have deadline because they are not on the RA list. expected impact? Number of employees? No idea.. a lot we assume.
It's a freaken blood bath folks ! Thousands are being let go this week .
Those who are confirming calls can atleast share bu's pls? Otherwise it's just a rumor!
To the managers following along, what’s the package look like?
all these rumors and talk, I know its going on but could people be more specific on which BUs are involved. IBM covers a lot of area so it would help people across BUs to know if they are included in the current changes. I know long term we all will be hit, but which BUs are the current focus.
RA Thursdays...
About changes or layoffs?
Also confirming.
i can confirm
