Downsizing to start on Tuesday, Jan 12th?
Hope I get a nice severance package, and hopefully I won;t see most of the r—ds working here again.

Guess it doesn matter, according to today's news half of the canadians don't even meet highschool literacy grade

Cenovus is a lean organization, Husky by contrast has extra layers of management and overpaid advisor types well past their best before date. It’s reasonable to assume Husky will be taking most of the cuts.
Trust me it’s worse at Cenovus. We were rated one of the worst companies to work for on the glass door app in 2019. Non stop layoffs and we are on round 9. Never ends. Ever.

i new canadian so sorry i write like i tolk, tank mr lau for bringing me but he gave me never no english lessens
“make sure you talk home your personal stuff my next Tuesday”
Pretty sure you are on the out list, apparently you can’t construct a proper sentence.
make sure you talk home your personal stuff my next tuesday
a layoff ratio of 90:10 husky to cenovus sound more realistic
I wish they would pull the trigger already, I need to know, if I'm in or out. I have another opportunity lined up, but I want my package, kind of like a bonus check, before I go. And I would prefer if they kept me but I'm a little bit worried about what happens in the future as I know what its like to work for Husky but not sure how it is at CVE. Can't be worse than Husky?
right sized? hmmm that's hr lingo.
I heard that you can tell a lot about a person by the way they write
:)
So I think I heard that managers and directors are going to be laid off next week and then employees are the last week in January. Does that see might to anyone else? In theory they have to be right sized first as they will be involved in our layoff phone calls right?
I heard latest layoff ratio was 70:30 husky to cenovus. Wonder if that’s true or rumour.
Just get it over with.
Hey folks, went through all this when AEC took over PanCanadian. The uncertainty, friends and colleagues gone, everyone was unsure as to where the direction of the new EnCana was going. The first 2 years were awful and there were more PanCanadian people laid off than AEC folks so basically EnCana was AEC with a few PanCanadian folks sprinkled in for the "diversity". I feel bad for the Husky folks, there's so much change, new building, cubicles (personally hate mine), new downtown location, new people in your groups. Cenovus has a lot of really good employees and we will welcome you!
I called it. Most non informative announcement ever. No one knows anything more than they did yesterday other try an we are all moving into a closet.

Watch the townhall - they’ve already told us when.
I think tomorrow will be a big nothing as far as a reveal of what’s going to happen. They will not show enough of the structure to really tell us what’s going to happen. If they did people would know to much about jobs and roles. For example, how many managers they need on HR or Supply Chain or Accounting. If they only need two managers then the rest would just stop working so they would have two weeks of chaos.
I fully agree with you Post ID: @2yxx+18OBiY0B. You are so on point with your analysis.
You guys are in for continual layoffs until Cenovus fails 3-5 years from now. Better to get off the sinking ship now.
Guessing it'll start on the 19th for immediate redundancies/people without boxes that don't have integration coverage - PSU's payout on the 15th, so it keeps things a bit simpler to do it after that.
Others will happen as knowledge and data is transfer and systems stood down. People who are attached to needed legacy systems will survive without a box for a while - but I expect most redundancy related changes would be done by June.
there will no doubt be others through out the year as other re-orgs reactions happen
I'd be surprised if it's before fiscal year end tbh.
After year end is done and all reports and conference calls completed
I don't think that it will start on January 12. I think it will start either on January 19 or 26 apart from the small pieces here and there that has already started this week (in particular at VP and above level).
