This article is total BS. It’s very clear to people who knew this strategy was coming that it will lead to massive job cuts in the Global Markets world.
This is a bare faced lie saying there won’t be job cuts. Whoever provided the quote should be packed up and kicked out.
You can’t cut 50 levels of sales down to two and not expect some overhead reductions IBM wants the Fortune 500 as they pay the rent (approx 85% of IBM’s revenue) All of the other accounts really don’t matter to IBM revenue wise
"there are no planned job or cost cuts associated with the move" – weasel words for saying they don't have a plan on paper ready to execute – today. Tomorrow could be a different picture. IBM had increased salespeople in an effort to increase sales. My crystal ball says this is a precursor to pulling back on those positions.
Its the wild wild west out here, no one has any direction and everyone being left in the dark. Sales is sitting and waiting for any leadership to let them know where they stand while there are ongoing deals. Poor execution.
Entire teams are being left in the dark and dont even know if they exist in the new model.
Get rid of digital sales in CICs, i do not get what the h..ll are these guys doing ?
They know they have to do this as things got out of control when it comes to segmentation between the groups. This is massive and will impact all folks on the sales side - I think there will be push back in executing and folks will want to keep fiefdoms but I am sure they will execute.
