Just look at the threads posted here in the past several days. The year has barely started and people are already stressing about iminent layoffs and wondering if today or tomorrow could be the day. This is not a healthy work environment, that much I'm certain of.

Well, to be fair, almost everyone I know working outside of Pepsi is worried for their jobs.
Internally, you learn to just expect this drama every Jan/Feb. This year with Covid certainly increases that angst.

A: Don’t leave - the Company will eventually get you and give you one to get you of the way.
