Another leader (LAPC Director) is packing up and leaving for a competitor as things just don't seem to be getting better in the GOM group. Not much to see here folks, just a mismanaged group run by incompetent / arrogant executive. Safety is as close to being compromised as ever because of costs and I know most are fed up with fighting to be safe. This company is running off quality leadership in both GOM and their chemicals groups. Shareholders and the board are bound to notice the trend.

Any GOM people leave recently?
OP, sounds like typical Oxy.
Doesn't matter who leaves unless it's Vicki Hollub. Steve, Warren and Carl have had ample time to replace her.
I despise LOXY
Vicki: please. We need a new president. Someone inspiring and trustworthy. This is not working. Please.
The name hangs around because we have to use it every time we call IT so they will know they have to use all the work arounds to help us. Also in some business units the use of the name establishes whether you know what you are doing or not with the rest of the audience.
It is likely the LAPC name hangs around for legal reasons. It will disappear after all possibility of COC is gone.
Point proved.
LOXY a–hole!!!!
Its Oxy that gave us that title and constantly refer to us as LAPC in correspondence and on their c-appy website
Insults are what this site is all about. That plus crying and complaining.
Simply insulting to all good Oxy people who took the VSP or got caught up in the lay-off last year.
Get on board with egotistical, Top down micro-management? 18 months in, Oxy is beginning to realize GOM is complex and not Qatar. If Oxy had been willing to listen people might be willing to get on board. It’s the Oxy way or the highway. The reason you have whiners is Oxy isn’t willing to pay the CoC to get rid of the bad apples so they’ll be stuck with them for another 18 months unless market picks up enough that people voluntarily walk.
you talking about the facilities guy or who? that one got replaced with another LAPC.
You said it all there when you said LAPC staff is afraid to speak up. Leaders lead and followers follow, and if people are scared to speak up they are followers. Maybe LOXY just has not seen a leader, and you can all quit because there are many out of work with experience that will fit in. This LAPC stuff has to go at some point because you all still refer to yourself as LAPC.
Same story in their Algerian operation
First the asset was non core and was being sold to Total
That deal fell through due to incompetency of the Oxy negotiating team so then they declared Algeria as a core asset and started to dump their ME staff there
Now there is a massive loss of LAPC staff due to retirements and or quitting all manipulated by Oxy to avoid any sniff of VSP or CoC
Huge amount of experience out the door and no questions asked by HR or senior management as it suits their case to run down the numbers and substitute with their friends
Safety is a joke - Some VP sends out patronising daily emails telling us to be safe when he knows its an unsafe operation and so do Sonatrach
LAPC Staff afraid to speak up for fear of retribution by LOXY
“Get onboard” with what? There’s nothing to get onboard with. Our new executives have no clue what we do and are just playing around until their retirement. Inserting their buddies, k–ling time, no direction. There is no inspired leadership to get onboard with. Just a little man enjoying his power, with no strategy or vision.
The GOM whiners have been crying about wanting their COC and leaving since the first day of the acquisition. No willingness to try to get onboard.
