Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Priority - make BBB look better and sell it?

It’s also a shame that while they were furloughing and laying off employees at the beginning and middle of covid - they decided to spend money to rebrand, created new signage and update the interior of stores - some of these stores that they are now closing. Instead of spending the money and fixing our systems like BOPIS. (...) But being a part of some of these meetings you see / hear the reality. They are trying to make BB&B look better only to sell us off.

( Sorry to copy the excerpt of another post @1cxz+18Ddqs8H, but I absolutely agree. Their wasteful spending of money is awful, they don’t have clearly arranged priorities and it increasingly looks like they are fixing up BBB in order to sell everything. )

The ‘remodeled’ stores look like garbage. Cheaply done and it shows. The work is already falling apart and it’s only been a few months!

How else is he going to pay for his 2 million dollar 3 bedroom and 3 bath apartment at 104 Charlton St. APT 6E in NYC.

This this can't be where Mark Tritton lives is it? Isn't the corporate office in New Jersey? Wouldn't he live closer to the office?

I'm so tired of dealing with customers service. They have to talk to management and ask about our return policy and for me to explain it to the customer instead of them knowing and being able to explain what the policy is or just telling the customer to come to the store and we'll take care of the situation with out them even contacting the store to let us know what's going on or it being a crazy demand on something we can't do in store and still telling them to go to the store and we'll solve it. I swear I've been dealing with this every day. Who else is tired of this I would like to hear some stories.

BBBY is owned and run by Capital Investment firms. Their primary goal is to make a profit period! The management of these firms are not interested in employees “happiness” for you are nothing more than “tools and resource” to achieve those profit goals. So unless you personally own the stock in this company, your a nothing. You want to work here get used to it. I said it years ago when the CIF’s took over they were going to Gordon Gecko the $#!£ out of this place until the last penny was squeezed out of the last asset. Human beings are NOT an asset, they are liabilities.
I speak from experience. Never ever for any reason work for a Capital Investment Firm owned company if your expecting a long, let alone a good career. It will never happen unless you own the stock.

They've also been sprucing up Corporate as well. New painting and the like for a cozy exterior feel. Meanwhile, and I agree, the interior is rotting away.

"Plain and simple he's a corporate raider. He's there to sell BB&B for parts and when there's nothing else to sell he'll move on."
MT and company have been transparent about their moves.
• reduce store inventory
• close up to 200 underperforming stores
• update interior of stores
• remodel top 450 stores
• keep core business Bed bath, Baby and Harmon
• update logistics
• update operation in store (freight, bopis, etc...)
• eliminate or reduce corp, district and in store staff
• launch own brand decor and merchandise
• reduce coupon increase reward programs
• always on omni environment, CURBSIDE!!!
• relaunch of store website and app

Read the earning reports instead of fabricating gossip and lies. Low key if the Baby goes, company goes down.

The most interesting part is when that person posted ...
But being a part of some of these meetings you see/hear the reality. They are trying to make BB&B look better only to sell us off. Mark is playing it close to the vest but he slips up here and there and reveals that he's not here to help BB&B he's here to clean it up - sell it off take the money and run.

Why are you posting the same thing from another post? Why not just comment on THEIR post? I swear there are some people who just post so they get more and more ' I hate MT". " They do not know what they are doing? "It's all about the shareholders" does no one read previous posts?
