It would come as no surprise if they make changes to severance packages and put employees in an even worse position following the upcoming layoffs. Here on the forum it's being talked about, and I have heard it elsewhere too, that the changes in severance packages will be significant. Unfortunately, none of my close colleagues have more detailed insights. Do any of you? How much harm could they cause us?

the severance was pretty decent in 2020 for my position when I was cut...I dont exepct that it will be that generous for those in 2021 round of terminations
As someone who was laid off, I wouldn’t wait for a package. It’s not worth all the sleep lost, all the bitterness (I wouldn’t be bitter if there wasn’t a pandemic and I have children, but as long as Jon Freier can post how well His daughter was doing, and the stock price is at an all time high), figuring out the next steps. If there are rumors of layoffs, THEN Expect it. They are trying to drive a stock price... they can not run on the John Legere momentum forever. Back then it was about the people even though deep down I know it was about stock price as well. It’s just how I felt, there was a togetherness and now there is a the scene in titanic where people were figuring out how to get into a boat. Now it’s about shareholder value. This catches up sooner or later. Mark this thread. I don’t want anything bad to happen to the folks that are pouring their blood, sweat, and putting themselves in COVID’s way, but keep this in mind, I’m sure upper mgmt will be first in line for the vaccine if they haven’t gotten it already. They will cut right in front of you...
I don't think anyone has details, that's likely under wraps in Seattle. But no way, no how they'll be giving the giant severance packages they gave the people last summer.
Either way, more layoffs are coming, probably not until April/May, I'd be surprised if they happen earlier. The company has WAY too many field sales mgmt people, they need to get that way, way down. I've started scoping out job opportunities
