The idea of a Compost Mechanic is the id–tic construct of your typical Office Lizard. They think since they can walk into any office and perform that job (tap on a keyboard and talk on the phone) the same is true in the shops.
Composite Mechanics is definitely something the company is looking into. All machinists at JLS now hold same card as Boilermakers. They have been weld training them for quite some time.
That’s right. The hourly employees are the reason for the high OR. Nothing to do with incompetent management, wasteful spending, and poor long term vision.
This is a Crock. Dont buy it
You misunderstood. NS is doing 4 tens in a row. One day off, work one 10, then another day off, then 4 10s. If you were hoping for a 3 day weekend think again. The last thing they will do at this point is throw any hourly employees a bone. They will give you the bone.
It takes more people to run a 4/10 operation than it does for 8 hour shifts due to getting three days off so I wouldn’t think that’s gonna happen.
But then that’s logical and this is NS we are talking about
Composite mechanics, this is the Carrier's National Negotiating position.
System wide? Just certain locations? Do you actually know anything?
