Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Good luck calling employee care

  • and y'all thought Sprint had problems! I've been on hold with T-Mo Employee Care for almost an hour to try to fix something with my severance that they screwed up! They obviously don't have their c-ap together. From having a manager offer me a job that was no longer available to having to call multiple times to update something they should already have on file. I worked for this company for over 10 years and for anyone considering a career here, RUN...RUN fast and far far away from T-Mo!! They do not value their employees or customers. It's a toxic work environment and they cheat their customers! I can't switch my phone to Verizon fast enough.

Well, I agree with the person who said they were doomed once they couldn't retain top talent.
This phrase alone is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
And you can see how they don't trust the intelligence of their employees everywhere, from 'you don't need to do anything to opt-out' with a huge magenta flier at the end with someone smiling to 'you won't have admin rights to your laptop'.

The only reason I didn't switch yet is because I sort of like the customer care. So far it has been fairly okay calling them for help.

Yeah they're awful. When I called, the guy who answered pretended he couldn't hear me. And this was after waiting 30+ minutes. Call avoidance anyone?? I've been laid off before with another company and they weren't this bad. If they didn't mess up my benefits to begin with, I wouldn't be calling! I've also heard from multiple sources that there will be more layoffs in early 2021. This company is pretty top heavy even without Sprint. None of these screw ups would have happened had they retained the employees with knowledge and good work ethics.

yeah - and those stupid b****rds - sent everyone on severance w/benefits through the end of the year, that you had to "opt-in" to Cobra insurance if you wanted it to continue after the end of the year. Since i didn't want it after Jan 1, i did "nothing", just like the letter in the mail said. It said do nothing if you don't want to enroll.
So - sure enough - just like clockwork, i get an email saying your January statement is due and I owe almost $2100!!!! So i had to call the benefit line (after you have to wade through all the "press this # for this, then press this # for that". Extremely bad line to try and navigate. Shameful. Fix it.
Finally got someone who canceled me for the end of the month, but how many other of the thousands of laid off employees probably didn't even notice and will get billed? They told me that it was all laid out in a confusing manner and shouldn't have been. People with severance were already opted in. God, i'm so glad to be out of that hell hole.
Lots of employees will be facing doomsday this spring when numerous layoffs happen again..........
